File Your California Tax Return

When you file your 2025 California income taxes (due April 15, 2026), you'll use Form 540 — the California Resident Income Tax Return. This is the same form whether you file through TurboTax®, H&R Block®, a CPA, or on paper.

Find Code 448 in the Voluntary Contributions Section

In tax software, you'll be prompted during your California state return. On paper, it's on Side 4 of Form 540 in the Contributions section. The fund you're looking for:
